TapRm seeks a dynamic, enthusiastic, and motivated individual to be a key contributor in the early stages of a high-growth beer and beverage startup. The incoming sales representative will have the opportunity to join a lean team with big goals, and immediately play a key role in expanding and cultivating this young company's regional footprint.

TapRm is a startup beer and beverage distribution company with a one-of-a-kind model that benefits brewers, retailers and consumers alike. As the nation's first venture-backed, omnichannel platform for building beer, cider, and hard seltzer brands, TapRm offers an unprecedented pathway for both established and up-and-coming beverage producers to access and engage customers in New York. In short, TapRm has the unique capability to bring New Yorkers’ favorite beverages to wherever they may be enjoyed--bars, restaurants, markets, offices, and even directly to the home. 

What is TapRm Distribution?

Based in Brooklyn, TapRm Distribution is the largest division of the TapRm family. Public-facing and highly interactive, this team is composed of the foremost brand ambassadors for our beverage partners. Through lead identification, relationship building, and account management, we ensure that each beverage finds its audience within New York's diverse neighborhoods and communities. This team of knowledgeable and approachable sales representatives are committed to providing unparalleled customer service in pursuit of excitement and engagement surrounding TapRm and its brands.

What is the role?

TapRm sales representatives are responsible for cultivating and maintaining a portfolio of beer and beverage accounts within a prescribed territory or specialty area. As a young company, all members of the TapRm family will have the opportunity to grow within their roles, assume new responsibilities, and collaborate on projects as they arise. 

Key duties include:

  • Managing portfolio of on/off-premise accounts

  • Performing weekly account check-ins

  • Using data to drive decisions

  • Monitoring accounts receivable for all accounts

  • Logging all account contacts

  • Submitting orders for fulfillment

  • Planning and hosting TapRm-related events

  • Developing innovative engagements surrounding TapRm brands

  • Collaborating with TapRm team members for different projects as needed

  • Charismatic, confident, and outgoing

  • Communicates effectively with a diverse array of customers--businesses and individuals alike--both orally and in writing

  • Experienced working within the beer and beverage or service industry

  • Enthusiastic about TapRm’s unique model

  • Committed to developing relationships with accounts serviced

  • Thinks “outside-the-box”--drawn to addressing old questions with new answers

  • Deeply motivated and capable of working independently

  • Motivated by learning new skills and consistent professional development

  • Comfortable working within a CRM to track, analyze, and improve performance

  • Willing to work nights and weekends as needed

  • Displays professionalism at all times

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Able to quickly learn new technologies and platforms

 

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Two years of experience in beer/beverage sales preferred

  • Licensed driver preferred

  • Brooklyn/Queens rep: car preferred

     

Compensation

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Salary structure is base + commission, with equity options available based on performance.
