What You Will Do:
The Sales Manager – Midwest is responsible for increasing sales in the Midwest territory (Ohio south to Alabama and west to North Dakota and Texas) and developing and maintaining long-term partnerships with key distributors and retailers. This is a full-time salaried position with bonus and commission.
Your day-to-day activities will be various and include everything that a Sales Manager would expect. You'll be calling on existing customers, prospecting new business, and managing brokers, merchandisers, and demo contractors. You will spend most of your time developing relationships with retailers and distributors. You will also attend and represent our brand at trade shows. Half of your time will be spent out of office, calling on customers, visiting stores, and ensuring that our high standards of quality are represented. You will be expected to attend sales meetings, trainings and travel internationally on occasion as needed.
What You Bring
Minimum of 3 years sales experience in specialty cheese or deli category is a must (do not apply without experience in this industry)
Knowledge of the Midwest markets and distributors taking care of the specialty retailers
Self-motivation and a passion for what you do
An understanding of the retail shopper’s perspective
An understanding of specialty food distribution process
Confidence in selling
Ability to prioritize and multitask while maintaining a high level of work quality and detail
Outgoing personality comfortable contacting senior level decision makers
Ability to blend within a small (but fun-loving!) team
A positive, upbeat attitude with an organized, efficient, and proactive work style
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Creative ideas for promotions and enthusiasm for engaging shoppers
This Job Requires
You need to have some experience and a track record of success in selling in the specialty food category. Frequent calls on the Chicago market is a necessity so Chicago area candidates will be strongly preferred.
