Position Overview:

The Director of Sales is a multi-faceted position responsible for managing a diverse sales team, nurturing/developing key customer relationships & delivering annual commercial targets through a clear sales strategy/planning process. The Director of Sales will be an integral member of the Solento Leadership Team and will participate in the planning, development & execution of key business & personnel plans. We’re looking for someone that brings a clear understanding of the spirits sales process, but that is ready to shake the convention to help bring change to the “standard”. Further, brand understanding, brand integration & brand cooperation with our marketing team will be a monumental discipline of this role. 

Essential Job Functions: 

Directs:

  • Responsible for developing and managing a sales team capable of carrying out needed sales and service initiatives. Identifies key metrics of success relative to the performance of the sales team and ensures accountability for their performance.
  • Lead, coach and challenge the Sales division to continually improve distributor support and provide accountability for meeting deadlines of tangible deliverables while ensuring customer service standards are met.
  • Provides leadership and direction to all employees under direct supervision. Actively participates in career growth and development of supervised employees on a continual basis. 

Develops:

    • Develops annual and multi-year sales plan in support of organizational strategic goals and objectives. This sales plan should include both distributor and multiple-channel selling strategies and tactics.

    • Directs implementation and execution of Sales & Marketing policies, programs and best practices.

      Plans:

    • Delivers sales presentations to key clients or distributors in coordination with Market Sales Managers and Market Representatives.
    • Routinely travels to various markets and works with Solento & wholesaler teams in market.
    • Responsible for establishing and sustaining profitable relationships with industry influencers and key strategic business partners.
    • In collaboration with the Finance department, develops and manages annual sales and sales-related marketing budgets.

      Analyzes:

    • Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts Sales strategies to meet changing market & competitive conditions. Recommends sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses.
    • Analyzes and controls expenditures of divisional staff to conform to budgetary requirements and any adjustments to such throughout the fiscal year.
    • Provides input and support to the Company’s Leadership Team in the development of joint ventures, affiliations and partnership arrangements.

    • Organized/Detail Oriented– the individual must be proficient in utilizing all sales tools (VIP, NAVIGATOR, NIELSEN, PPT, EXCEL, etc.) and be incredibly detail oriented/organized.
