At Petit Pot, we believe that Americans deserve to find amazing desserts in their specialty stores and groceries, and we are looking to transform this world with the help of renowned French pastry traditions!

Our small company makes delicious, single-serve desserts called pots de crème. They are traditional gourmet French puddings, potted to perfection. And this is not some gelatinous powder-in-a-box pudding. This is a delightful blend of age-old French pastry practice with modern California culinary flourishes!

Our pots de crème are distributed throughout California, Hawaii, and Colorado. They are sold refrigerated in stores like Whole Foods and local chains (Andronico's, Mollie Stone's, Berkeley Bowl, Gus's. . .) as well as in independent stores (Rainbow Grocery, etc.)

We are in the process of developing other recipes (our latest one: a vegan coconut rice pudding) and expanding to more locations/regions.

Responsibilities... and what you will learn:

We are seeking an Operation Manager. You will help lead efforts to increase production capacity and efficiency and ensure the quality of finished products.

In a small startup like ours, you are expected to take initiatives and work as part of the founding team, brainstorming with the team, tackling day-to-day problems and coming up with original and efficient solutions.

Of course, you will have the opportunity to taste and savor many of our desserts! Gourmet taste buds a plus :)

Some of the primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:


  • Helping promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.

  • Working with the CEO and CFO on budgeting and planning for short and long-term goals.

  • Ensuring all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.

  • Administration of human resource functions.


  • Overseeing production, working in collaboration with the production manager and team (15+ employees).

  • Researching and identifying ways to improve our production efficiency.

  • Monitoring equipment needs and capabilities for maximum efficiency and evaluate what equipment is needed for the next stage of scaling.

  • Ensuring fulfillment and delivery of purchase orders.

  • Coordinating the ordering ingredients & packaging, finalizing POs and ordering materials as needed.

  • Evaluating suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships.


  • Driving special quality and food safety projects such as HACCP, GMPs, SOP etc.

  • Managing Food Quality Certification (SQF2), and working with Production & Quality to prepare for external inspections and audits.

  • Enhancing food safety procedures at the facility.

  • Understanding, improving and monitoring the traceability system.

  • Controlling the quality of semi-finished & finished product.

  • Ensuring effective food safety and food quality trainings.

What we require:

  • Background in Food Manufacturing, Quality, and Production.

  • Knowledge of HACCP, SQF, BRC.

  • Detail oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment.

  • Proactive & willing to learn.

  • Outstanding communication and people skills.

  • Positive, Happy, Energetic, Fun!

  • Well organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive tasks.

  • Open-minded and generally socially conscious individual.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite Office (especially Excel)

  • Interest in cooking/baking/ food in general.

  • Language: Spanish is a plus.


Master/Engineering Degree in Sciences (Food Science, Food Safety, Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related Field.)
