Supply Chain Aficionado

Imagine: you are stuck on a deserted island. You can only have one game to pass the time. If Sudoku came to mind, please take a seat. Grab an umbrella’d drink. Stay for a while. We are looking for someone who is keen on doing research in the field (literally), believes that curiosity and analyticity (yes, that’s a real word, because a curious person might wonder) go hand-in-hand, and has the patience of Father Time. You would notice right off the bat a discrepancy in your island’s coconut inventory and are fast to make sure they are just the right shade of green. You are happy to travel to-and-fro and look high-and-low for the job (starting with us getting you off this hypothetical island).

About you:

  • You don’t just detect problems, you solve them, like a modern day Sherlock and Watson all rolled into one tamale.

  • You posses an analytical brain and eye for details; you might even dream in hieroglyphics.

  • Your friends would say there is a light bulb permanently fixed above your head for all strategic thinking you do.

  • The King’s Speech is one of your favorite movies because of the divine display of eloquence and communication proficiency (and Colin Firth, naturally).

  • You’re not afraid to get on the phone and talk out an issue with a supplier, but you also know to follow up with an email for documentation purposes, por favor y gracias.

What you will do:

  • Manage the proper sourcing, contract negotiation, and procurement of materials, supplies and services for current and new products.

  • Sustain supplier base and engage suppliers in projects that improve quality, minimize lead time, and improve pricing and contract terms.

  • Analyze supply chain data, systems, and processes to achieve optimal system improvements.

  • Identify strategic opportunities, such as supply chain inefficiency reduction.

  • Oversee inventory levels of both raw materials and finished goods.

  • Travel as needed.

Your experience:

  • 3+ years in a similar role

  • CPG experience strongly preferred

Please send us a resume and cover letter, and provide us with the contact information of at least three people who are not related to you. We also request that you fill out this culture questionnaire. There are no wrong answers. We want to learn more about you!
