Senior Marketing Coordinator – Shopper Marketing/Trade Marketing

The Role

The Senior Marketing Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the development of trade and shopper marketing promotions and programs.  This person will also be responsible for identifying and deploying tactical, location-based campaigns to promote the brand at specific retailers using social and application-based platforms especially as it relates to new retail launches.  As such, this position will also be responsible for tracking the success of each of these programs.  Additionally, this person will lead the development of point of sale (POS) materials and sales collateral.  They will also responsible for coordinating marketing’s effort at trade shows.  This role serves as the key point of contact between marketing and sales.  The role is based in Woodland, CA however it is not required to be in the office daily.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 


  • Review current retail and sales and look for opportunities for improvement / expansion
  • Support the development customized trade marketing plans for each retailer
  • Support / Lead new retailer / new product launches at retailers
    • Determine best tactics
    • Lead retail training
    • Ensuring proper merchandising POS
    • Work with retail marketing team to participate in appropriate retail promotions
  • Work with shopper marketing partners to develop customized retailer specific shopper marketing programs
  • Support sales by helping to prepare for customer meetings, category reviews, and trade shows- equipping them with selling and presentation materials
  • Support the development of sales presentations, including the use of IRI data to improve presentations 
  • Own Marketing folders on drive and files by ensuring all materials are up-to-date
  • Manage the creation of appropriate POS materials (collaborating with a designer)
  • Manage internal/external vendors for POS and sales collateral creation and deployment
    • Manage miscellaneous requests from sales team, i.e. POS sourcing, buyer kits, creative requests, case-toppers, display props, etc.
    • Lead marketing’s participation in trade shows
  • Create sell sheets and POS materials (collaborating with a designer)
  • Manage internal/external vendors for POS and sales collateral creation and deployment
  • Prepare, report and track funding requests, coupon redemptions and other internal reporting/tracking
  • Coupon development – coding, systems input, monitoring
  • Manage sales oriented creative assets
  • Create a monthly newsletter for the sales team to share with their customers

  • 2+ years’ professional experience preferably in Trade/Shopper Marketing in the Food and Beverage industry experience preferred, perimeter of the store is even better
  • Experience working in an early stage company
  • Experience with digital (social, web and application) tactics deployed to stimulate retail sales
  • Some experience with Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop
  • Strong working knowledge of the grocery retailer environment
  • Strong sales skills and brand marketing mind set
  • Computer proficient, primarily in Microsoft Office PPT and Excel
  • Available for company related travel
