The Manager of Finance & Operations reports directly to the Director/Vice President of Finance and Operations and is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial close and reporting, designing and implementing financial controls, developing the finance and operations staff, and assisting the VP of finance in building/ analyzing financial models to help management make strategic decisions (cash flow forecasts, break-even / cost benefit analyses, etc.) Additionally, the position is responsible for demand planning, product sourcing, inventory management and logistics. Finally, the position plays an active role in supporting the fiscal year financial audits performed by independent auditors.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITYManage the monthly closing process and ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial statements.Design, implement, and improve financial controls and processes to safeguard company resources. Manage day-to-day financial operationsAssist the VP of Finance and Operations in building financial models to support management decision makingEnsure adequate cash flow to meet the organization’s needs. Forecast the cash requirements for Aurantiaca USA LLC and secure funding from parent Company on a timely basis to finance the business activities consistent with the business plan and priorities.Manage all aspects of the supply chain including demand planning, product sourcing, inventory management and logistics. The overarching goal is to ensure that fresh Obrigado product is delivered on time to our retailers/distributors, consistent with the terms expressed in the purchase orders. This includes communicating the monthly production plan to FRYSK Industrial Ltd in Brazil, coordinating with NDA Worldwide on the delivery of the containers from the local sea ports to our warehouse network, securing pallet positions for warehousing/storage/handling and arranging for transportation from the warehouse network to the “ship to” locations expressed in the purchase orders. Periodically review the warehouse network to either expand or contract the number of warehouses to support the priorities of the business.Develop a high-caliber, motivated Finance and Operations team. This includes recruiting, hiring, training, and development of staff as well as providing timely feedback on performance. Play an active role in supporting the fiscal year-end financial audit performed by independent auditors and achieving an unqualified audit opinion.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS5-7 years of experience in a finance and/or accounting function, of which 2 years must be in a manufacturing-based business Experience with general ledger analysis, financial planning and analysis, and solid technical knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).Experience should encompass start-up, private and public companies.Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required.Master’s degree (MBA) or Certified Public Account (CPA) highly desired.Strong leadership, communication, and staff development skills required.Hands on experience in manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics highly desired.Large scale financial systems implementation experience such as SAP, CRM, ERP highly desired.
