Opportunity:


We are seeking a Part-Time Accountant to work out of our San Diego headquarters on a contractor basis for approximately 1-2 days per week. As a Part-Time Accountant, you will provide general accounting services to support various Accounting Department projects. This will involve accurate preparation of financial statements, reports and analyses, as well as more complex statements and reports. We are looking for an organized, data-driven, and a proactive/forward thinking professional that is eager to join a growing bicoastal agency rooted in the health and wellness space. This opportunity does have the potential to grow into a full-time role in the future.

The ideal candidate will possess:

?      Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA, preferred

?      5+ years of professional experience in accounting/finance role

?      Proficient in Quickbooks and Fathom

?      Experience working with Zenefits and Harvest a plus

?      Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP required

?      Strong understanding of advanced accounting principles and general ledgers

?      Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite

?      Advanced Excel/Google Sheets Skills including Pivot Tables

Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable

?      Monitoring all company spending to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures

?      Ensuring timely payment to all vendors and contractors

?      Reviewing and approving all large transactions

?      Implementing spending controls as needed

?      Submitting quarterly tax payments

?      Coding credit card activity for ~10 accounts

Accounts Receivable

?      Creating and tracking invoices for all client retainers, fees, and expenses

?      Sending payment reminders and collections notices as needed

?      Tracking billable expenses for all clients 

Data & Reporting

?      Assisting with preparation of monthly and annual financial statement package

?      Approving, processing and reimbursing employee expense reports

?      Developing, maintaining and analyzing budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs

?      Data entry and reporting for Harvest, Quickbooks, Fathom, and Zenefits

?      Processing payroll journal entries as needed

?      Maintaining up-to-date revenue projections

?      Monthly bank and credit card reconciliations

?      Ad Hoc reports and consultation as needed 

General

?      Maintain accurate timesheets on a daily basis

?      Ability to predict the needs of the business prior to issues arising
