Position Summary – VP Operations, Feel Good Foods

The VP of Operations must operate tactically and strategically as well as build the broader strategic operations plan.  The individual is a key member of the Leadership Team and is expected to work collaboratively with other team members to resolve issues and seize opportunities. The individual is responsible for S&OP, COGS, quality (including food safety and regulatory), R & D and commercialization, procurement, contract manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, customer service, and capital expenditure execution.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the operations representative on the Senior Leadership Team and collaborate with the senior team on the strategic plan and annual operating plan
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost enhancement and lead action to realize improvements
  • Collaborate with leadership team members to identify key risks and opportunities
  • Oversee the company S&OP Process
  • Coach and develop direct reports and oversee people management of the dept
  • Create and manage operations scorecard and metric reporting
  • Serve as operations lead for innovation and commercialization processes
  • Manage operations capex budget
  • Manage supplier relationships and procurement
  • Manage contract manufacturing relationships
  • Manage warehousing and distribution functions
  • Manage customer service and freight

Key quantitative performance metrics of the VP of Operations

  • Adherence to manufacturing margins and COGS objectives
  • Adherence to finished goods specs
  • Adherence to quality and food safety standards
  • Adherence to on time delivery % goals and product fulfillment goals
  • Adherence to working capital / inventory targets

Supervisory Responsibility

The VP of Operations has a total of 3 salaried direct reports and serves as the 2-up manager for a broader team.
