Nice spice heat, nice taste of basil in the sauce, lovely fresh wide rice noodles. Very happy with this dish.

Awesome! A huge portion of properly-cooked squid meat in a nicely incendiary sauce. Big pieces of the Chinese dried black fungus as garnish added a nice crunch and a leap out of the usual Eugene-area Americanized fare.

Impressive amount of duck meat in this big bowl of soup. The duck was a bit tough though, which combined with the Asian-style on-the-bone presentation made it messy to eat. The flavors of the duck and the Chinese-style broth were a bit washed out. Still, this much duck for such a low price kicks this up to four stars for me.

It's all about those wide rice noodles, and this chow fun features the nicest noodles I've found in this town so far, with that perfect ever-so-slightly-chewy texture. The generous topping of stirfried meats and plump juicy shrimp doesn't hurt either.

Great "special sauce," great crispy crunch on edges of patty and bun. Patty was more of a sloppy joe consistency for mine - may need to get a second sample to check if that's the norm ... the only problem being I want to try their felafel next time I go. :-)

This was a rather skimpy bibimbap. I chose the seafood option, and what bits of squid, mussel, and shrimp you could find in the mix were tasty enough, but few and far between. And where did all the banchan go? One dish each of kimchee and beansprout salad does not cut it.

I really wanted to like this buffet a lot more than I did. The food is certainly wholesome, and it takes great baking skills to get such nice texture in vegan gluten-free baked goods. But the soup and chickpeas were bland, the cauliflower and cabbage in the vegetable stew had been allowed to get that brassy bitter edge, and the idli lacked any trace of fermented tang. Healthy cookery can do better than this. (edited to add: I meant to give this only 3 stars. Somehow Nosh recorded it as 4, and I can't seem to edit the star rating.)

The pork had alas gotten a little dried out around the edges, but it still had some great flavor, as did its tangy sauce. Plus dig the presentation, with the lovely slice of very fresh avocado and the dayglo orange rice. Plus these folks have a nice little salsa bar. So I'm going to give this dish the benefit of the doubt and round its 3.5 stars up to a 4.

Champiqueso's name appears to be a French/Spanish mashup to describe mushooms and cheese. The Champiqeso at Plaza Latina's taqueria could be a Mexican transformation of a Philly cheesesteak sub. Carne asada (thin-sliced marinated beef) and a mix of sliced onions and mushrooms are grilled on the flattop, arranged on a bed of tiny flour tortillas, then topped with easy-melting queso fresco. The result, like a good cheesesteak, is greasy but damn good. Still, I almost wished there was even some shredded lettuce to lighten this dish up a bit.

I liked the proportions of meat, beans, rice, etc. in this burrito. The carnitas themselves lacked flavor, but the burrito as a whole pleased me enough to edge this up to a 4 stars for me.
