Green because they are made with tomatillos instead of tomatoes. Really good and a nice departure from regular salsa served at Mexican restaurants. Spicier than I expected which I appreciated.
The best tortilla chips I have ever been served at a restaurant. A little thicker than usual and freshly made all the time (the manager said their fryer never stops making chips). Also there was a perfect amount of salt - some but not too much.
I would actually just come for the chips and a beer.
Order it. You won't be disappointed.
Perhaps one of the most dense bites of flavor I have ever had. A had a literal mouth-gasm. The pork was perfectly cooked... tender and juicy. The slaw served with it provided a fresh and light crunch when incorporated into a bite and the vinegar was a great component to already amazing flavor from the pork.
You could order this at a high end steakhouse over a filet mignon and be totally happy.
I consider myself to make some pretty damn good guac, so I am a really hard critic of other guacamole that I find. That being said...
This gauc was just ok. Very fresh with some of Don Pistos awesome green salsa and a little cilantro (I think). However, I felt the overall flavor to be a little light in depth for me. Other people at the table really liked it so I think its more of what type of guac you like.
Try it out for yourself...
Warning: I love Carnitas tacos from taquerias so I feel like I judge carnitas tacos unfairly sometimes.
Skip these. They were definitely not terrible but there are so many other better things on the menu you shouldn't waste the room in your stomach on these.
My main problem is that there was no crispy, salty flavor to the meat which is what I love most about carnitas tacos.
Warning: I love Al Pastor so I feel like I judge pastor tacos unfairly sometimes.
Meat was very tender and juicy with fret BBQ/"pastor" flavor and a good addition on sweetness from the pineapple. Something just seemed a little off for me which is why I am only giving it a 3/5. Perhaps because this place is more Mexican fine-dining father than the taquerias that I usually eat pastor is why.
Like the other fruit focused adult beverages served here, it's fresh, not too sweet, and the fruit favors really come through. The acai flavor was a nice twist on what I expect from sangria but overall the drink was just ok for me. Perhaps I was just looking for a little more booze but the drink seemed a little lite in this department which is why I am only giving it a 3/5.
